My measurement for most vents in our home are 12.25 x 8, would I be able to use the 12x8 to replace or would that not work. Any information is much appreciated

The 12x8 linear slot diffuser should work as a replacement for your current vent, as this is a standard size and will cover the hole completely. However, since the measurements are not exactly the same, there may be a small gap around the edges.
